Solitaria

Soprano Maya Kherani's debut album features three solo cantatas Handel wrote as a young composer in Italy: No se emendará jamás HWV 140, Ah, che pur troppo è vero HWV 77, and La Lucrezia HWV 145, performed with continuo alone. The program moves from pastoral reflection through grief to Lucrezia's furious final scene before her death, tracing an arc from private sorrow to something far more charged.
